Starting with optical devices for scientific purposes and for home use, the small projectors started growing and where able to project images up to 100 squaremeters and more.

The Stage Projector was born.

In the year 1955 after the Vienna State Opera and the Burgtheater opened again, the Stage Projectors celebrated their breakthrough in theatre applications. Famous stage designers and artists such as Prof. Schneider-Siemssen, Prof. Svoboda and Herbert v. Karajan branded the name Pani in the international market. Nowadays you may say it is a synonym for large image projection.

Today Pani Stage Projectors are spread all over the world. Theaters and Opera Houses from Vienna to Tokyo, from Australia to the United States and Russia are using Pani projectors.
As a matter of this fact the exportshare is 80%.

New markets are developed to keep up and to increase the majority of the projection market. The projectors are sold through a world - wide distribution network with more than 60 distributors and additional local resellers. With its origin in the theater field, a second marketsegment started to grow - Events and Industrials.

For Outdoorevents with huge projection areas as known from Rock ´n´ Roll, Open Air Concerts, Corporate Shows, Product Launches or Outdoor Advertising, extra strong projectors with a high light power output are requested. To fulfill these needs, Pani developed the world strongest large format projector.
The BP 12 Platinum comes with the power of 12.000 W HMI light, producing more than 100 000 ANSI-lumens.

Projections on buildings with a facade of aprox. 10.000 (!) squaremeters are possible (e. g. Projection on Insurance Building in Vienna). Today there are countless numbers of examples of large image projection of various shapes and artistic levels

With its wide-open view, Pani also detected new targets such as the Architectural Lighting market. Announcing the AP 2 (at first starting as ARC2), Pani created a projector especially for permanent installations, maybe advertising issues, where lifetime and overhead expenses play a key role.

Besides stage projectors, Pani also manufactures a range of followspots.

Due to high efficient optical systems and compact design, these follow spots gain high popularity.
