Following the idea of Tobias Reiser which died in 1999 Josef Radauer founded together with the Ensemble Tobias Reiser 2001 the Salzburger Passion Singing, which treats every two years a new topic. 2007 und 2008 the play "Ich Pilatus" by Werner Friedl was performed, which represents passion history from the view of the Pontius Pilatus. In the initial years the Kollegienkirche ( the magnificent building of Fischer von Erlach which is notably in need of rehabilitation ) was the main performance location. For the frosty temperatures blankets for the audience had to be provided. Therefore having sensational access with the Tobi Reiser Adventsinging in the aula the responsible persons decided to perform the passion here as well. |

The problem of this area all involved one was clear from the outset. The empty wall at the back with its 12m heigth and 15m width is as white as the whole hall.In addition no possibility exists for hanging down something of the ceiling. The hall stands under monument protection and the official editions are very strict. In the person of Prof. Siegwulf Turek the ideal coworker and specialist was found getting this problem under control immidiately. He transformed the white wall into an ideal projection screen. Using two PANI BP 2,5 CT stage projectors and handpainted glass slides ( 18 X 18 cm ) the various scenic locations and the neutral church ambience which was displayed between the scenes were represented. By use if soft fadings the palace of Herodes, the garden of Getsemane, the domicile of Pilatus where his wife was influenced from the devil, Golgatha and the final apotheosis with the cross of rays were displayed. ![]() The high reception of the public is the gratitude for the couragious decision for using this naerly unactable hall being concepted as a concert hall for scenic productions as well. |
